Republican Terrence Murphy was officially sworn in as the new state senator for the 40th district, representing parts of Westchester, Dutchess and all of Putnam counties during a ceremony in Yorktown Heights on Thursday, according to News 12 Westchester. Murphy defeated Justin Wagner in November to take the seat previously held by Sen. Greg Ball, News 12 Westchester said.
