'Frosty The Snowman' Celebration Returns To His Hometown Of Armonk

The homecoming of America's favorite snowman, Frosty, will be celebrated again this year with "Frosty Day" in his hometown of Armonk on Saturday. Frosty's 65th birthday will be celebrated this year as well as the annual parade at 4:30 p.m. and holiday lighting ceremony.

Mary McInnis Boies of Armonk recently received the 2015 Judge Learned Hand Award from the American Jewish Committee for her legal and philanthropic work. Boies, who is counsel at the law firm Boies, Schiller & Flexer, where she specializes in anti-trust and cooperate commercial litigation, was presented with the award on Nov. 12, by the 2014 award winner, Jeremy Temkin.

Spotlight Theatre Presents 'A Christmas Carol' In Armonk

The Spotlight Theatre in Armonk will host a production of "A Christmas Carol" from Friday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 13 at the Whippoorwill Hall Theatre at the North Castle Public Library. 'No Man Down Lacrosse Classic' in Armonk Raises Money For Military Charity

Byram Hills High School and community volunteers held the second annual "No Man Down Lacrosse Classic" in Armonk to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project, which helps wounded U.S. military members with a wide range of services and support, according to The Examiner News. The tournament featured varsity, junior varsity and seventh- and eighth-grade teams from throughout the Hudson Valley, Long Island and Fairfield County with continuous 25-minute 7-on-7 games for boys' teams and 8-on-8 games for the girls' squads, The Examiner News said.

Byram Hills Students See The World Through Google Cardboard

The Great Wall of China, the Galapagos Islands and ancient Mayan ruins were among the 'field trips' taken by H.C. Crittenden Middle School and Byram Hills High School students in Armonk, as the schools tested Google Expeditions. Using cardboard viewers with smartphones, students twisted in all directions to take panoramic tours led by teachers using the virtual-reality teaching app.

The Armonk Players present the play "Mothers and Sons" at the North Castle Public Library's Whippoorwill Theatre in Armonk on the following dates: Friday, Nov.13 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 15 at 4 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. "Mothers and Sons" is a play by four-time Tony-winning playwright Terrence McNally.
