Holocaust Survivor Presents Lecture Series At Congregation B'nai Yisrael

Holocaust survivor Albert Linder will teach a four-part lecture series at Congregation B'nai Yisrael of Armonk, starting on Tuesday, March 8, titled "What is Judaism and What Does it Mean to be a Jew in the 21st Century?" Linder was born in Chernowitz, Romania, in 1936. In 1941, he and his family were deported to a concentration camp in the Ukraine, where they spent three years.

Woman Trapped Under Mixing Equipment Tops North Castle Police Blotter

A 26-year-old woman was rescued Friday, Feb. 12, after being stuck under a "piece of mixing equipment" that fell on her while she was working in a Main Street business, according to police. The woman, whose identity was not released, was said to have been stuck for several hours before she could reach a telephone to call for help.
