A system that is expected to produce heavy rain and, in low-lying urban areas, flooding has resulted in a Severe Thunderstorm Watch being issued for portions of the area. The watch, issued at 1 p.m., is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday and includes Putnam and Dutchess counties.

Showers, Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Headed To Armonk
Abundant sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid 80s resulted in ideal conditions for July 4th outdoor activities and events on Monday. The precipitation is not expected to arrive until after 11 p.m. in most of the Hudson Valley, according to AccuWeather.com.
