Nation's Best Ranked Art Show In Armonk Tops Week's News

Media of all kinds were represented, including oils/acrylics, glass, photography sculpture, and jewelry at the annual Armonk Outdoor Art Show held Saturday at Westchester Business Park in Armonk. Jennifer Czarniecki, a Mohegan Lake resident who was crowned Mrs. Westchester in January, was arrested and charged with stealing from the group home where she worked, according to Investigator John Rodriguez of the New York State Police.

Armonk Business Helps Raise Money To Benefit Path To College Program

Michael Lehrer, president and chief executive officer, of Home Green Advantage, contributed a 50-foot putting green to the 5th annual 19th Hole on the Park fundraiser that benefits The First Tee of Metropolitan New York's Path to College Program. Armonk-based Home Green Advantage has been providing the putting green for the past several years, allowing party-goers to challenge one another and themselves to see who can make the hole-in-one.

Pace University Faculty Transport Sheep To New Environmental Center Complex

James Eyring, the assistant director of Pace University's Environmental Center, herded sheep and goats from the old barn to the new barn which has been erected as part of the new Environmental Center complex, a major component of the Master Plan for Pace's Pleasantville campus. Good Winter Forecast For Armonk Tops Week's News

Despite several reports of doom and gloom about the upcoming winter, the National Weather Service is forecasting average temperatures and average precipitation for the season. The New York State Department of Health is advising parents and health care providers to be aware of the signs and symptoms of a serious respiratory illness known as enterovirus EV-D68, which has now been confirmed in more than a dozen children in New York State.

Armonk Group Hosts Puttin' On The Dog Event On Sunday

GREENWICH, Conn., -- Dogs will be taking center stage at the 27th Annual Puttin' On The Dog event Sunday in Greenwich. The event has become popular with dog owners who have pooches that would never win awards at the Westminster Dog Show but can win blue ribbons at one of the many fun contests at the event, said Allyson Halm, president of the nonprofit Adopt-A-Dog group.
